I had a lot of fun planning some fun things for Carter’s birthday this year. He really likes the movie, There Will Be Blood, so I took that as my source of inspiration for his birthday party. He was pleased with the way everything turned out.

Since Carter also works in oil and gas, I thought it would be awesome to get him a cake that looked as though oil spilled on top. Christy Starling at Cstarcakes more than delivered on what I was looking for. Carter loved it so much, he couldn’t bear to cut into it.

Jaime at Amazeballz Cake Balls also did a magnificent job on the mustache cake balls. She thought the almond bourbon balls would go well. And they certainly did!

I also thought it would be fun to design custom cups for the party. Since one of the best scenes in There Will Be Blood includes the quote, “I drink you milkshake,” I had to get that on the cups. I love how they turned out!

We also played the movie in the background at Carter’s birthday gathering. I brought ingredients for making milkshakes, as well. We had a family dinner, and it all came together very nicely.

Who else loves that movie? I had a lot of fun planning these goodies. This would be fun to do for any guy’s party.
