I am so excited to share my experience at The Murder Mystery Company last night. This was my first time ever attending a murder mystery dinner. I will definitely do it again. The concept of dressing up, acting in character, and solving a mystery is just too much fun for me to pass up.
Since it was my first time, and the website was a little vague in how the night would ensue, I was surprised and delighted every step of the way. The minute you walk into the venue, you are apart of the show. You are treated just like a character of the show. We were apart of their Billionaire’s Club having the annual Masquerade Ball.
I found an awesome, vintage mask at the Dallas Vintage Shop in Plano, TX. My outfit was put together with some of the stuff I already owned. There were so many people dressed up in lovely costumes at The Murder Mystery Company. If dressing up is not your thing, you are not expected to, but you might get an award for best dressed.
Before we sat down, we got these adorable pictures that were given to us at the end of the night, complimentary. If you check my Instagram, you can see our mug shot. It’s priceless! Each table has about ten people, and they are your teammates in solving the mystery.
Our table figured out who did it, but we learned that if you don’t have enough details, you won’t win. If you win, you get a big applause and an award. Even at times when I didn’t think I wanted to get up and walk around, I easily got into it.
The Murder Mystery Company made for a night I will not forget. I was very surprised at the crowd turnout, the food quality, and just about everything else I can think of. The actors were very fun to talk to, to the point you didn’t even know they were actors at first.
